Viktor Rydén is a young Swedish baritone from Stockholm. He has been praised for his warm and clear timbre and for his natural stage presence. After studies in Stockholm at the Royal College of Music and Stockholm Operastudio he received his master’s degree from Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien in 2022 (class of Angelica Kirchschlager). During the season 2023/24 Viktor is taking part in the Young Artist Program Talang at Folkoperan in Stockholm.

In 2023 Viktor made his international debut as Schemariah in the world premiere of Bernhard Lang’s opera Hiob at Stadttheater Klagenfurt, Austria. Later that year he was invited to Staatsoper Hamburg to sing in Venere e Adone by Salvatore Sciarrino under the baton of Kent Nagano. Other engagements include Papageno (Die Zauberflöte) at Skånska operan and productions at Folkoperan, Schlosstheater Schönbrunn and Drottningholms slottsteater.
During his studies, Viktor performed the roles of Guglielmo (Così fan tutte), Papageno (Die Zauberflöte), Ein Musiklehrer(Ariadne auf Naxos) and Le Fauteuil (L’enfant et les sortilèges).
Viktor is a well sought after concert singer with a wide repertoire from baroque to contemporary pieces, such as Brahms’ Requiem, Faure’s Requiem, Messiah by Händel as well as St John passion and Weihnachtsoratorium by Bach. As a Lied singer he has performed a large number of programs with songs by Schubert, Schumann, Brahms, Gustav and Alma Mahler and Korngold.
Viktor has been awarded scholarships and prizes from the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm, the Marthe Urzander & Lars-Olov Nyhlén fund, SWEA international, Anny Felbermayer fund, as well as the Royal College of Music in Stockholm.
