Aina Miyagi Magnell

Aina Miyagi Magnell is a Swedish/Japanese mezzo-soprano who recently graduated with distinction from Master of Performance at Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Aina has been part of several opera productions including most recently Zweite Dame in Zauberflöte (Nevill Holt Festival) and gender-swapped Pang, Turandot (Grimeborn Festival) as well as Der Boy in Kurt Weill’s Der Zar lässt sich photographieren (Silk Street Theatre), Orlovsky in Fledermaus (Silk Street Music Hall) and various scenes including Octavian in Die Rosenkavalier, Hänsel in Hänsel and Gretel, Siebel in Faust (Guildhall School of Music and Drama).

Described as possessing a warm and vibrant sound and praised for her elegant yet expressive and playful interpretation, she has also sung in venues such as Opera Holland Park, Barbican Concert Hall and Milton Court Concert Hall with London Symphony Orchestra, Britten Sinfonia, Southbank Philharmonia and BBC Radio 3.
