Lauryna Bendžiūnaitė is a Lithuanian soprano who was a member of the ensemble of Staatstheater Stuttgart between 2014 and 2018. Her roles in Stuttgart have included Musetta (La Bohème), Ännchen (Der Freischütz), Zerlina (Così fan tutte), Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro), Dalinda (Ariodante) and Karolka (Jenufa). She also appeared in Bieito’s new production of Purcell’s Fairy Queen under conductor Christian Curnyn and in Boesman’s Reigen. Further to this Mrs Bendžiūnaitė was invited to Opera National du Rhin singing Susanna.
Engagements this season include Debussy’s Le Martyr de Saint Sébastien and Mahler’s II Symphony with the Warsaw Philharmonic under conductor Jacek Kaspszyk, Debussy’s Le Martyr de Saint Sébastien in the Elbphilarmonie in Hamburg with Sylvain Cambreling, Despina in Mozart’s Cosi fan tutte at Opera National du Rhin, Strasbourg and Jemina in Schubert’s Lazarus at Potsdamer Winteroper with Trevor Pinnock.
In Lithuania she is invited singing with the Lithuanian National State Symphony orchestra; a New Year concert, Tippet’s Child of our time and Tove in Gurre-Lieder by Schönberg.
