DIMITRIS PAKSOGLOU TENOR BIOGRAPHY
Greek tenor Dimitris Paksoglou was born in Piraeus and pursued advanced vocal studies under the guidance of internationally acclaimed baritone Kostas Paskalis and distinguished soprano Marina Krilovici. He graduated as a scholar of the Nikolaos Mantzaros Conservatory, receiving his diploma in solo singing with the highest distinction and First Prize in the class of mezzo-soprano Maria Marketou. He is also a graduate of the Veaki Higher School of Dramatic Art.
Dimitris Paksoglou has collaborated with renowned conductors and stage directors, performing an extensive repertoire in Greece and abroad. His roles include Manrico (Il Trovatore), Cavaradossi (Tosca), Gabriele Adorno (Simon Boccanegra), Gustavo III (Un ballo in maschera), Pollione (Norma), Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly), Des Grieux (Manon Lescaut), Don José (Carmen), Alfredo (La Traviata), Turiddu (Cavalleria Rusticana), Macduff (Macbeth), Albert Gregor (Věc Makropulos), Steva (Jenůfa), Creonte (Edipo Re), Danilo Danilovic (The Merry Widow), Araquil (La Navarraise), Nobleman/Nightwatcher (The Portrait), Eisenstein (Die Fledermaus), Otello (Otello) and Don Carlo (Don Carlo), Canio (Pagliacci.
Recently, he made his debut in the Wagnerian repertoire in the famous role of Tristan at Norrlandsoperan in Sweden.
From 2012 to 2022 he was a principal member of the leading soloists’ ensemble of the Greek National Opera, earning acclaim for his vocal expressiveness and dramatic artistry.
