David Sarosi began his musical studies with piano at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen and subsequently went on to study conducting at the Liszt Academy in Budapest, Hungary. He won first prize in the prestigious Lantos Rezső conducting competition in Budapest, was awarded a grant from the Dan-Olof Stenlund Scholarship Fund, and was awarded the Royal Swedish Academy of Music’s highest scholarship for orchestral conducting for several years running.
David has worked at institutions including the Budapest Opera, the Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen, Malmö Opera, Gävle Symphony Orchestra, Malmö Chamber Choir. He had the opportunity to work with internationally renowned musicians and singers, including Plácido Domingo, Malena Ernman, Marianne Mörck, Arja Saijonmaa and Rickard Söderberg. He performs regularly as a conducting piano soloist, and is equally at home in symphonic repertoire, opera, oratorios and musicals. David is artistic director/principal conductor and guest conductor for several orchestral associations and choirs in southern Sweden, such as the Malmö Sinfonietta, the Christianstad Symphony Orchestra, the Lund New Chamber Orchestra, Sångbolaget in Malmö, the Tonica Orchestra in Helsingborg, etc.
