Lydia Bryngelsson

Lydia was born in New Brunswick, NJ in the USA and grew up in Germany from age of six. She studied voice at the conservatory in Leipzig (HMT) and at the University of Stavanger (UIS). In 2010 she was discovered by Anne Gjevang at the Cesti competition for baroque opera in Innsbruck and was then hired into the young artist program of Den Norske Opera og Ballett in season 2011/2012. She sang such roles as “Second Lady” in Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” as well as “Fortuna” and “Minerva” in “Ilritorno d’Ulisse in patria” by Claudio Monteverdi., staged by Ole Anders Tandberg.
