In the past two years Lydia has concentrated on starting a family and is now the mother of two sons.
2019 Lydia was a part of Den Norske Opera’s production of the children’s opera “Funiculi, Funicula” singing the role of “Funicula”. Spring of 2019 she sang“Second Lady” at Den Norske Opera og Ballett, in the Star Wars themed production of “The Magic Flute” by Alexander Mørk-Eidem.
The season after the young artist program Lydia returnedas a guest soloist to portrait Prinz Orlovsky in Johann Strauss’ “Die Fledermaus”.
Since, she has been part of two world premieres. She portrayed“Virginia Wolff” in the opera ”Orlando” by composer Peter Aderhold at Staatsoper Braunschweig, Germany. Later she sang the role of “Sigrid Vaalen” in Kjell Habbestad’s opera “Nenia” for the Oslo Opera festival and the Ultima festival for contemporary music.
Lydia has sung “Maddalena” in Giuseppe Verdi’s “Rigoletto” with the Oslo Opera festival as well as “Hansel” in their children’s adaptation of Engelbert Humperdinck’s “Hansel and Gretel”. She sang“Third Lady” in Opera Østfold’s spectacular production of “The Magic Flute” in 2017 and in 2018 she sang the title role in “La Cenerentola” by Giaocchino Rossini in a collaboration with “Det Norske Blåsensemble” and Opera Østfold. The same year she also sang title role of ”Carmen” in a chamber version of the opera in Leipzig.
Thanks to the great Bach-tradition in Leipzig, Lydia has sung a lot of J.S. Bach’s music, including the Christmas Oratorio (cantatas I-VI), St. Matthew’s Passion, St. John’s Passion, Mass in b-minor and several of Bach’s cantatas. As a concert soloist Lydia has amongst others sung the solo Alto part in “Petite Messe Solennelle” by G. Rossini, “The Messiah” and “Dixit Dominus” by G.F. Händel, “Requiem” by W.A. Mozart and “Mass in D major” by Antonin Dvorak.
