Ylva Stenberg is a young Swedish soprano who graduated with excellent rating from the University of Music, Theatre and Media Hannover in 2016. She was engaged in the young ensemble at the Staatsoper Hannover immediately after her graduation the season 2016/17. Among the roles she has performed at Staatsoper Hannover you find Papagena in Die Zauberflöte (Mozart), Giannetta in L’elisir d’amore (Donizetti), Esmeralda in Die verkaufte Braut (Smetana), Barbarina in Le nozze di Figaro (Mozart), Taumännchen in Hänsel und Gretel (Humperdinck), Morenvogel in Leyla and Medjnun (Glanert).
Next season in Hannover will contain Papagena, Eine Tämpelsängerin (Aida), Rosée-du-soir (Karotte), Amor/Valetto (Poppea) among other roles.
Ylva Stenberg is also a much requested soloist in concerts and her repertoire includes Mozart’s Requiem, Bach’s Johannes Passion, Mendelssohn’s Elias and also works like Die letzten Dinge by Spohr and Das Weltgerich by Schneider.
Ms Stenberg received the Jenny Lind Scholarship in 2017, which besides the great honour, also entailed a concert tour in Jenny Lind’s footsteps in US and Sweden that was performed during the summer of 2017.
Ylva Stenberg started her vocal education at Ingesund School of Music followed by studies at Vadstena Folkhögskola, both in Sweden.
