Olof Boman is one of Sweden’s most internationally acclaimed opera and orchestral conductors. A graduate of the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, he conducts throughout Europe and is currently Principal Guest Conductor at Theater Bremen in Germany. With a deep knowledge of historically informed performance, he conducts both modern and period instrument orchestras.
With orchestral repertoire spanning the late Baroque to the early Romantic, he has conducted renowned orchestras including Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, Konzerthausorchester Berlin, Kammarakademie Potsdam, Bremer Philharmoniker, Balthasar Neumann Chor und Ensemble in Hamburg, Concerto Köln, Barokksolistene, Trondheimsolistene, Trondheim Symphony Orchestra, Aalborg Symphony Orchestra, and many Swedish orchestras.
Recent projects include Lucia di Lammermoor (Donizetti) at Theater Bremen; Orfeo ed Euridice (Gluck) at the Norrlandsoperan, Sweden; as well as concerts with Bremer Philharmoniker and Balthasar Neumann Chor und Ensemble.
Current projects include a tour in Denmark and on Iceland with Orkester Norden, concerts with Det Norske Blåseensemble in Halden, Norway, concert projects in Trondheim, Copenhagen, Amsterdam and Antverpen. Olof Boman is also invited as a guest to Glogerfestspillene, he returns to NorrlandsOperan in a project based on music by Bach and is invited to Trondheim Symphony Orchestra conducting a staged version of Orfeo ed Euridice.
