Astrid Robillard is a Swedish mezzo-soprano who can be likened to a Rosina with a glimpse in her eye, impressing the audience with cascades of fast coloraturas but also a roguish Cherubin and a heart-sore Emilia.
Astrid made her debut as Carmen in Bizet’s famous opera at MalmöOpera and debuted as Waltraute and Second Norn in Die Walküre and Götterdämmerung in Värmland Opera’s production of Wagner’s Ring.
Among other roles she has performed you find Isabella and Zulma in l’Italiana in Algeri at Läckö Slott, Idamante (Idomeneo) and Orlofsky(Die Fledermaus) at the at University College of Opera in Stockholm.
Other recent engagements include Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia at Skånska Operan in Malmö, Sweden and Dorabella in Così fan tutte at Den Jyske Opera in Aarhus, Denmark.
Ms Robillard graduated from the University College of Opera in Stockholm 2010 and has also been studying at Operastudio 67 and at the University College in Linköping. Ms Robillard received the Jenny Lind scholarship 2009 and in a consequence of that made a tour in US and Sweden during the spring and summer 2010.
