17 maj MEZZO-SOPRANO LYDIA BRYNGELSSON JOINS GOOD COMPANY
Lydia Bryngelsson is a German-American freelance opera singer based in Oslo, Norway. She was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, USA. Her family moved to Germany when she was six years old. As a child, she obtained her first stage experience in operas at Theater Trier, including the role of Bilke in Fiddler on the Roof, and supernumerary roles in operas such as Eugene Onegin and Ernani, where she appeared alongside her father, bass James Moellenhoff. She received her first voice lessons from her mother, and in 2001, was awarded a first place in the competition Jugend musiziert.
Ms Bryngelsson appears this season as Second Lady in Mozart’s The Magic Flute at Den Norske Opera og Ballett in Norway, in an opera gala at Stavanger concert house with Opera Rogaland and as alto soloist in Händel’s Dixit Dominus in the Oslo Cathedral during Oslo’s international Church festival.
Among recent roles can be mentioned: Cenerentola, Maddalena in Rigoletto, Hänsel in Hänsel und Gretel, Fortuna and Minerva in Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria, Prinz Orlovsky in Die Fledermaus, Second and Third lady in Die Zauberflöte.
